Rovinj is a small, charming seaside town on the Istrian peninsula of Croatia. It is often referred to as the pearl of the Adriatic and is definitely one of the most beautiful places in Croatia. Rovinj is postcard-perfect in many ways: its fascinating old town with cobblestone alleys and squares as well as colorful houses. The old town is located on a peninsula that had once been an island, until it was connected to the mainland in 1763. The town is dominated by the church of its patron saint, St. Euphemia, which is the symbol of Rovinj.
